AEW follows the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations and guidance when we make access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for examinations.

Every request is treated separately. Adjustments might include additional time, rest breaks, exam papers in large text, a reader, or a scribe.

Exam adjustments will be the same as your normal working practice in the classroom and will be requested before the exam takes place. Your teacher will record the classroom support in your ILP and request reasonable adjustments. Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) will work with your teacher to ensure you receive the support you need. You may need further checks, and you may need to provide medical evidence before the support is agreed upon.

If you are taking a GCSE exam, approval must be obtained directly from JCQ. We will assess your current needs if you have had access arrangements or reasonable adjustments for exams at another provider.
