Period Poverty

‘Period poverty’ means being unable to access sanitary products and having a poor knowledge of menstruation often due to financial constraints. Not having access to a safe and hygienic way to deal with menstruation can have profound consequences. The stigma surrounding periods has been shown to directly affect attendance and achievement.

Adult Education Wolverhampton is working to help end period poverty, of particular concern during this period of financial crisis.

If you need sanitary products, go to reception and “ask for a package for Sandy.” You will be given a discreet envelope with what you need, for free, no questions asked.
